REASONS TO JOIN ART BY NURSES?
1. Gives you an opportunity to sell your art in your own Individual virtual gallery without developing and/or managing a website.
2. Support your colleagues by contributing to an Art fund for Nurses when you sell your art.

6. Minimum financial commitment or time
When you post your art on Art by Nurses web site you will be given a place in the gallery to display your art, and/or sell your art with minimal financial commitment (membership fee) or time. Once your artwork is entered into the gallery you will receive a cheque, by mail, once a month, for any artwork you sold during the month.
7. Take action to create healthier work environments for Nurses
You can be part of the solution in creating healthier workplaces by inspiring your colleagues, and sharing the reflective processes you use to maintain balance and meaning in your work as a healer. More importantly, you will be contributing to a resource, an art fund, for your colleges, when they would like to try art to maintain balance and meaning in their life.
8. Identify with the Art by Nurse goal statements:

Promote Art as a self-care strategy for nurses. By selling art on line, nurse artists celebrate and share the different artistic processes they use to maintain balance and meaning in their work as healers at the same time contribute to a resource (art fund) for their colleagues.

Promote the work registered nurses contribute to health care. Use art as a vehicle to communicate nurse’s work, to the public we serve.
- Promote Nursing Leadership by creating and sustaining their own quality practice environments. Nurses inspire nurses through art by promoting the importance of looking after oneself first as integral to sustaining healthy work environments that foster leadership and learning.

Promote Nursing standards of practice – coming to work fit for practice. Help to create a resource for Nurses to achieve better balance and cope with what is a difficult, challenging job.

Step 3-Digitalize your artwork
You can take a picture of your artwork using a cell phone or any camera that has more then 5 megapixels. Save the images all as jpeg files on your desktop so you can easily locate them (on your desktop) when you are asked to upload them from the browse button. I always take pictures of my art in the morning before the sun comes into my backyard. I lay them flat so that there is no reflective light off the acrylic painting. I have a program that crops and sharpens your image so I can correct them for you before they are uploaded into your gallery.

NOTE: the description of the terms in the form below are:
Profile image: is an image you would like to have included with your artist statement. You can use a picture of yourself or a picture of a piece of your artwork.
Featured art work: is the image that will be displayed on the door to your gallery. Again, this can be a picture of yourself and/or a picture of your art work that your customers would recognize.

Submit your artwork
You can submit as many pieces of art as you
like by clicking on
submit your artwork at the bottom of the page and
filing our the form for each submission. Our submissions are sent to me via email and I simple review them for spelling and/or grammar and add them to your gallery.
